I prefer the EVA water filter,
This review is from: Stainless Steel Gravity Water Purifier with ATC Super Sterasyl Heavy Metal Filters - UK ONLY (Kitchen & Home)
I decided to buy this water filter in addition to the EVA filter that I have in order to reduce costs a little. The EVA requires 3 items that need to be changed, but 2 of them only require changing every 2 years. I have the smaller 7lt version, so another reason I bought the Berkfeld was to have a filter that provided larger quantities of filtered water.
It has twice (and more) the capacity of the EVA filter which I like, however ... the water that comes out of this filter smells a little of the filters themselves, which is unpleasant to drink neat. So I am using the water from this filter for tea and coffee and keeping the EVA for drinking water. I am not too worried about getting nasties out of our tap water at the moment, other than chlorine and basics, but I am sure that people affected by floodwater would definitely appreciate this. I live in hope that the taste may improve after a while.
UPDATE: Having used this filter for a couple of weeks and recently given it a thorough cleaning which included pouring boiling water over the candles and letting it filter through for a short time, the taste of the water if now perfectly fine.

Hi there, I am looking to buy a wáter filter but I am really confused and can not decide between the berkefeld and the EVA filter, what I see is that the EVA filter only gets about 35% off flouride from the wáter where the stainless Steel filter (Berkey) has two specific "filters" for flouride?do you know if this is correct based on your experience with both?Thank you so much for your time, regards!

Ivan. Sorry for the late reply. I wasn't notified of your comment. In case you haven't yet decided, if you want to remove fluoride, by the statistics, I would go for the Berkfeld. Luckily for me, our water isn't impregnated with that neurotoxin.
