4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not perfect?, 21 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sony NWZF886 32GB Web Enabled Walkman Video/MP3 Player (discontinued by manufacturer) (Electronics)
Overall I am very happy with the build and performance of the player and it as played all the FLAC and MP3 files I have thrown at it with no issue?

The only niggles I have is the battery life is not outstanding and is no where near in my experience what it says? Don't let this put you off it just not outstanding but lasts me a couple of days moderate use?

the other main issue is the EU volume cap? I like my music loud and the limit on this machine means for me it not loud enough? I have it on full all the time and no tune is loud enough that I need to lower the volume? It may be ok for some but my personal taste it isn't? My solution was to buy some Beats Mixr headphones which are the loudest in the range and now it is just fine for me :-) Another slightly messy answer would be a small headphone amplifier like the FiiO Kilimanjaro E11 ?

So overall I am more than happy and the drag and drop ability of files a lot easier than some other fruit based devices of which this device will play the files from as well!

Have you considered a portable headphone amp? Might be an idea, although admittedly perhaps not that suitable for when you're out and about...

I have indeed and i purchased the FiiO E7 which rectifies all the problems with low volume, but as you say not ideal if you want a pocketable device?

It just a pity there no firmware hack but that beside still a great device!
