I was sceptical, but boy was I impressed by this!,
I have a 1996 Toyota Landcruiser diesel with 180k miles on the clock, and the exhaust was getting a bit smokey and very smelly.
I spoke to my mechanic about servicing injectors and pump etc, which would have been many £100s, and he said "try this". I was sceptical because I've tried the likes of Redex before and it has never made any difference that I could see. However on the "nothing venture, nothing win" basis I poured 400cc of this into the tank, which contained around 70 litres of diesel at the time, so I ended up with a slightly higher concentration than their recommended 0.4l per 100 litres.
Almost immediately the engine was very noticeably smoother and quieter, and the exhaust less stinky. I don't think there is any more power, but then it doesn't claim to raise the cetane rating so I don't find that surprising. It's too soon to see if there is any effect on fuel economy.
OK, I know, all subjective opinions. But I've tried lots of fuel additives in the past and this is the only one that has made any difference that I can see.
Well worth a try - but not at this price: you should be able to get it for around £12 per 400cc bottle.
Addendum [a month later]. I've since filled up with a fresh tank of diesel, no additive this time. The engine is still smoother and the exhaust very noticeably cleaner, so the good effects seem to persist. My mechanic's view is that if you have a piston ring sticking due to carbon build-up this product may dissolve the carbon and hence release it. Whatever the explanation it seems to work.
