This review is from: Say Her Name (Kindle Edition)
This book for me was a little cliqued to begin with. You had the elites headed by mean girl number one Grace and Bobbie the slightly nerdy heroine. Pipers Hall boarding school reminded me of the Worst Witch in its description and Dr Ellen Price was the stern cold principal like Mrs Hardbroom (Maybe I made this connection as my 7 year old has just read a worst witch book.) I also thought it had a slight I know what you did last summer feel which is a good thing as I love the film.
I absolutely LOVED the Bloody Mary theme and the history behind this troubled individual. Everyone has heard a variation of this story and I loved James Dawson's take on the subject. The countdown was brilliant and added another dimension to the story. I do not want to reveal anything but can say I really liked the ending. I have seen other reviews stating it was scary and you should not read alone at night. Whilst it was a little creepy at times it was not scary but then I'm 35 and have seen a lot of scary movies. Younger readers would probably find it a bit unnerving and will really enjoy it. Finally every time I think of this book title it reminds me of Florence and the Machine Say My Name and it pops in my head (It might happen to you too now ha ha!)
