great for newcomers, not for power users,
This review is from: The Rough Guide to the iPad (2nd edition) (Paperback)
I borrowed a copy of the 1st ed from the library and found it concise and easy to get get bite-size chunks of know-how from. If you're an Apple Interface Intuitive then you'll discover most of this know-how by playing around.People like my 80yr old mum aren't, however, and this pocket size book is great for getting her started and giving her a sense of what her new toy can do...
...AND what it can't do - there are a number of limitations that apps like Pages & Photos have on the iPad which may baffle those used to their Mac counterparts; it's reassuring to have a book tell you that you CAN'T do something (rather than spend time fiddling around convinced that there MUST be a way)!
Not a book for those who are looking for super sophisticated tricks, then, but a quick glance at the format should make that obvious.
