Just so disappointed, that's two hours i'll never get back.......,
This review is from: The Mist [DVD] (DVD)
Firstly, let me say that I am an enormous Stephen King fan. I am currently re-reading his back catalogue and I believe his skills at characterisation and character-driven plots are unsurpassed and that some of his books have been made into fantastic films (The Green Mile anyone?) However, this was not one of them.
The lack of excitement and pace were palpable almost from the offset and sadly not helped by the wooden acting of most of the characters. I wouldn't have even minded it not being scary if it had effectively shown the breakdown of different people and personalities, but i didn't feel that this was explored with enough power to make you actually empathise with any of the characters.
And don't get me started on the ending. I won't spoil it for anyone but suffice to say - if you have to watch this film and decide to switch it off 10 minutes before the end you won't have lost anything at all. I don't mind films that don't have the same ending as the book, but this completely went off on a depressingly dark tangent that left me wishing I had not wasted the last two hours of my life.

OMG!!! Another thicko who didn't get the film!! :)
I will say it one more time for those who simply don't get it and keep knocking the films so called bad CGi and bad monsters and acting etc.
I will make it VERY clear for your poor little heads to understand!!
"THE FILM WAS FILMED IN THE STYLE OF A 70s B-MOVIE AND IT IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK THE WAY IT DOES"
Please take the time to let your brain cell take in that information.
................and relax! :)
PS: Stephen King liked the new ending!
