Verified Purchase(What is this?)

This software loaded reasonably easily without much fuss. The Licence number on the wallet was printed exceedingly small and one has to be careful that it is read correctly. A "quick start" set of notes would be helpful before booting up to warn users about signing in with their Outlook.com account (if they have one) or about creating such an account. This user name and password is then used to access the computer, but a non-Outlook.com password can be used to access the computer with what is known as a local account. However, one is better using an Outlook.com account to ensure Windows updates.
Windows 8 is fairly reliable; I have had no issues with it and it runs well. The update to Windows 8.1 is worthwhile to implement.
Generally, the system does what I want - use of MS Office, e-mail, surfing, etc. However, like a lot of people I ask myself what the hell was wrong with Windows 7, or Windows Xp?

Mr. P. Kay says:
It's a OEM version - System builders only!! Quick start guides are included in the retail version - perhaps that's what you should have bought....?
