This review is from: From Here, You Can't See Paris (Paperback)
This is a most enjoyable account of the author's time spent researching life in a restaurant in south west France.
If you love France and french food this book is for you. You get to live for a year with the restaurant proprieters and the villagers, learning all the rituals of the daily grind. Hard work it is, too. Also you learn how to get good service in restaurants!
The author's description of the region, all the history, all the detail about rural life left me longing to go there and taste it for myself.
Worth a second read.
