I jumped at the opportunity to obtain this 30th anniversary reprint of Adrian Moles first diary. I owned it when it was originally written back in the eighties, but that copy fell apart long ago. Sue Townsend produced a totally original account of a young man on the verge of adulthood back then, that also was something of a social commentary, but the best thing about it, is of course the authors wonderful wit. It is practically impossible to read any page of this book or any of the follow ups without laughing out loud, Adrian and his family are absolutely hilarious. I would heartily recommend this book, it is just the job to chase away the winter blues and also a lovely nostalgic trip back in time too.
