This review is from: A Family in Wartime: How the Second World War Shaped the Lives of a Generation (Hardcover)
This is one of those books that manages to be both informative yet moving. Reading about how a normal family dealt with the day to day difficulties of wartime life was very affecting, and along with the evocative posters, photographs and World War 2 artefacts reproduced inside, this book creates a poignant and extraordinary account of life for families living during the Second World War. First class.
