One of they great things about CDs is the back catalogue of music that is available. Stuff you could never ever get again on vinyl. This band are a little hidden gem of an era long forgotten. I remember as a teenager sketching a photograph from the NME of Edgar Broughton freaking out on his guitar , but had never heard what he and his band had to offer. After listening to a few samples on amazon, I took an instant like to them and ordered this album and the follow up album. the first track on there makes you think, did David Byrne use this as the prototype for Talking Heads'? The rest of the songs take you through blues, rock, country, folk, you name it, its there and done with great imagination and style. It was said in the notes that they could never recreate their stage sound to record, after hearing these two albums it makes you think how brilliant they must of been live. I realise that music is very objective and some may think TEBB an acquired taste, (and I wouldn't disagree) But there are obvious similarities at times(which they dont deny) to Cpt Beefheart and maybe Tom Waites, so if you like a bit of them, you'll like TEBB, but there is so much to them than that and I look forward to purchasing the remainder of their recordings.
