Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life,
This review is from: Broken Flowers [DVD] (DVD)Essentially its "Lost In Translation" meets "High Fidelity - the later years", even got a guy burning mix CD's.
It is a very good concept, the idea of what you would do if you mysterious found out you had a child. However the fact murray character has no personality its hard to believe he's ever had a girlfriend. He's feels like a loner, as opposed to just someone who never married.
Artistically put together, colourful yet sparse, some light humour in patches, but mostly a intense viewing which of course may perturb some viewers.
As for The ending, it is purely for you, the viewer to make up your own mind.
Its a decent film, its not brimming with entertainment, and henceforth not a easy viewing. However if you embrace the concept, you will want to watch it out to its conclusion. Whether your happy with the ending, is dependant on whether you like a open/closed ending.
