These movies are classics,
This review is from: Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection - Limited Edition [Blu-ray] [Region Free] (Blu-ray)However, some more than others. Some of the movies from the 60's and 70's pale in comparison with the director's best work from the 40's and 50's. My favorite movie of all time is "Rear Window" and I think "Vertigo" is pretty amazing too. As for most of the other movies in this set, I'm quite happy just to own the DVD versions. I am very disappointed that they don't release these movies on individual discs as well. This year has seen a lot of amazing releases and many of us have spent a small fortune on Blu-rays already. I'm sure they'll release these titles individually some time next year. I just wish they'd do it now. It would be the decent thing to do.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with you,the later films are missing that spark that made his earlier work so enjoyable and some like Marnie and Frenzy i found extremely distasteful while torn curtain and topaz were just plain boring.a mixed bag indeed. a bit of a cheek calling it a masterpiece collection.
