Good book for boys who like trucks and diggers,

At 5½ months our son is still a little young for this type of book, but it held his attention all the same. Of course, the subject matter had little to do with that (he doesn't yet know what all the vehicles are), the big, bright illustrations take all the credit. I expect that as he discovers these big machines out and about it will interest him more and more.
There are six double page illustrations each representing one of the types of diggers or trucks. I found the text in the book to be a little lame. Each page has a little rhyme concerning the vehicle illustrated, but they're uninspired and a little forced. They're meant to sound fun as you read them, but they don't. Otherwise the pages a nice and thick, solid and shiny and on top of that the reference tabs are a nice little touch.
All-in-all not a bad book for a fiver, but not a great one either. Your little one might think it is the best thing ever, while another child might not glance at it twice. That's the perils of children's book, sadly.
