Lock brilliant, mounting bracket rubbish,

This review is from: Kryptonite Bike Lock with 4-Feet Kryptoflex Cable (Sports)
The lock and cable are very sturdy. My bike is only £400 so this grade of lock will deter most opportunistic theives. But the mounting bracket really lets it down. Using a bit of fabric to hold such a heavy object may well stop your frame getting scratched, but the lock almost fell off several times and that was after hours of trying to find a place on the bike it would fit the tubing and withing the frame. Having a hybrid i thought there might have been enough room inside the frame for the lock, but due to the mounting, i couldn't get it to fit a single place and have resorted to carrying it in my bag. I'd have had to carry the cable anyway, but the added weight of teh lock wasn't welcome.

I have a full sus Saracen and am beginning to wonder if - like the OP - I may have to resort to carrying the lock around in a separate bag; I guess I need to look for full sus compatible bags of sufficient size!

Mr. A. Hay says:
Rotate the bracket a few degrees and mount the lock slightly to the side of the frame. Make sure the fabric is very tight around the frame.
My (Abus) lock has been mounted to my hybrid bike like this for about 8 years with no trouble.
Not sure how this method will work for a full suspension bike if parts of the frame are moving.
