This review is from: The Spying Game : The Secret History of British espionage (Paperback)
Unless you are a Spying 'freak' this little tome is, even to me, heavy going. It is indeed VERY revealing in many ways - and fascinating as a result - but seems, to me, to be a little disjointed. The subject DOES demand lots of flipping backwards and forwards for references and the like, but I've found this to be a distraction. It is NOT a novel.. more of a reference work than a front-to-back-page reading experience. If you were looking for an educated Le Carre teaser, forget it. Peter Wright's controversial "Spycatcher" is more up your Street, but my namesake has provided a wealth of eyebrow-raising detail.
