Outstanding personal experiences,
This review is from: C.Q.B. (Close Quarter Battle) (Paperback)
If you once have started reading you won't stop till you've finished. Apart from the military story of an absolutely addicted soldier it reveals again a huge problem of many British soldiers - the slow and inevitable collaps of another marriage.
There are, however, some logical mistakes. The author introduces himself with being born in 1957. While in the Falklands War he tells of being 22 years old. Reaching the SAS selection for the first time in 1985 he states being 26 years old. While describing his Desert Strom experiences he describes a mission where he saw a "Jolly Green Giant (Chinook)". But this nickname wasn't ever added to the Boeing/Vertol CH-47 helicopter but to the HH-3E version of Sikorsky's S-61 helicopter when it flew in the Vietnam War.
