sheer brutal killing power,

This album just doesn't lose any of its original, face-ripping brutality. It's a classic grindcore album: a lot of the rhythm stuff reminds me of Morbid Angel (no doubt due to the fact that Dave Vincent and Pete Sandoval are in the band) - lots of pile-driving, tight drumming - plus guitar riffs which are more punky than death metal, but totally distorted and heavy beyond belief. Dead SHall Rise was the song that got me into this - it featured ona Grindcrusher compilation in the early nineties i think. It's a perfect example of what they do - massive doom-laden intro and then straight into machine-gun fast drumming and freanzied riffing.
This is a stand-out album from the ealry Earache days. An absolute gem. If you like a lot of the other Earache stuff rom that period, like Altars of Madness, Carcass, Godflesh, Napalm Death etc, you'll like this.
