Think I rate Salmond higher than the Mr Torrance's biography,
This review is from: Salmond: Against the Odds (Paperback)
The book is a reasonable attempt at a biography of someone who has yet to achieve all that he hopes to achieve. But the author is a well known Unionist and he obviously attracts unionist readers. Just look at the highly biased and, frankly, distasteful earlier review.
I think the real biography of Salmond will come after his final term as Prime Minister of an independent Scotland.

William Podmore says:
J. McDonald, what is distasteful about my review? I wrote that "This is a very well-written and revealing biography of Alex Salmond." As for bias, we're all biased, in that we all have a point of view. You clearly favour the break-up of our country Britain. I on the contrary favour keeping us united. Both are biased judgements, you might well say. So the biases cancel each other out. I note that you don't dispute any of the facts that Mr Torrance writes about, and that I note in my review.
