A mixed reception here,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Fujifilm FinePix F550 Digital Camera - Black (16MP, 15x Optical Zoom) 3-inch LCD (Electronics)
Bought this to replace my Lumix TZ-2. Happy with that, but wanted a change.
Obviously there's a learning curve, but it's not a particularly intuitive menu system.
Have found pretty good battery life with the GPS on "on when the camera's on". Didn't buy the camera for this feature, but quite nice actually.
Quite disappointed with the video shooting, loses focus with any movement, or often with none. Don't seem to have this problem with the HD camera on my phone.
The EXR mode is useful for still subjects with varying brightness across the picture. Generally good shots. The focussing gets lost on a long zoom, and you may need to zoom in a bit at a time.
Very disappointed with continuous shooting and general speed of shots. Takes 3sec from pressing the shutter to being able to press it again. Continuous shooting is poor - takes about 8 secs to enable continuous shooting, then a few seconds to take the max 8 shots, then it takes about 20 secs to save the pics. The 11 shots per second touted as a feature doesn't mention the incredible slowness of saving the shots. (I have a class 10 card). To contrast, my old Lumix would take about a shot per 0.5 secs if you just pressed the shutter & held, with no prior set up. I think this is poor. Haven't found another way to continuously shoot.
In conclusion, not a bad camera but I should have bought the TZ20.
