Well written and balanced view of climate change,
This review is from: An Iceberg As Big As Manhattan (Paperback)
The title refers to a section of ice 10 miles long by 3 miles wide that broke free from the Ayles Ice Shelf in the Artic Sea. Yet this is not another typical climate change book. Green issues writers and presenters can be polarised to either camp. Perhaps because David Shukman was the BBC's Defence Correspondent and by his admission a bit sceptical of the more strident environmental campaigners, that the book at least in the beginning is neutral; always questioning where was the science that supported the projections. However, there is a gradual shift to acceptance of climate change as the book progresses. This is by no means an arid academic work. It is well written and enjoyable as well as providing food for thought. Definitely 4.5 stars.
