Good but not Great,
This review is from: Captains Courageous (Penguin Classics) (Paperback)
Nice little story of a spoiled brat who turns good, having said that the story is rather predictable and the dialogue [of the different nationalities onboard] difficult to follow at times, sometimes to the extent it becomes irritating.
I found the main character - Harvey Cheyne far more interesting and colourful as a spoiled brat, unfortunately he changes quite early in the story into a lesser and more conventional character.
On the plus side, the book gives a good insight into life aboard a 19th century fishing schooner, along with the hardships encountered.
