This review is from: Lady Audley's Secret (Kindle Edition)
I enjoyed this book. I first read the Doctor's Wife by Braddon, because it was loosely based on Madame Bovary (one of my favourite books). I wasn't so struck by The Doctor's Wife, but must have liked it enough to give this story a go, and I think that I actually preferred Lady Audley's Secret. I found the story quite engaging and the secret isn't quite as obvious as one might at first expect. The main character is quite likable too. It's a weekend read - ideal for a rainy day with a cup of tea and maybe a roaring fire.
I did think it would make a great film and discovered that an attempt was made - but looking at the review it seemed that not much of the story line was stuck to - shame.
