The Entire Appalling Business-NOT,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: St. Trinian's: The Entire Appalling Business (Hardcover)
Here was me thinking I would get the stories about St Trinian's as well as Ronald Searles brilliant cartoons. After waiting 3 months for the book(Not Amazon's fault)It was most disapointing! Maybe Americans can only appreciate visual & not written words!Or has it taken all that time to catch up with our English sense of humour.

I didn't think there were any St Trinians STORIES. The films were based on Searle's cartoons

There is one St Trinian's story, "Terror of St Trinians's" written not by Searle but by D.B. Wyndham Lewis.
Sam's criticism of this book seems based on his ordering the wrong book: "the Complete Drawings", rather than Terror of St Trinian's. You won't get verbal humour from Searle: he was an artist. It's like complaining that a comic novel is a load of words rather than pictures.
