The Dress Thief would make a fantastic film!,
This review is from: The Dress Thief: a tale of fashion and forbidden love (Kindle Edition)
The Dress Thief is a gripping, exciting, informative, intelligent book. Natalie Meg Evans' colourful and vibrant descriptions of the world of Paris fashion inspire to learn more - even a fashion amateur like I am, can say that. If the art of scent and odors in Patrick Süskind's "Perfume" awakened your awareness for smells, The Dress Thief will awaken your sense of touch and beauty in a similar way. Historical background is pictured so vividly we are naturally immersed in it, as we are to the soul of each person we come across. Insight into the intricacies of family secrets, different qualities of relationship, the paradoxes of love, reveal each personality as realistically as meeting them in person. I very much appreciated the notes in the back of this well-researched book, perfectly rounding off a linguistically beautiful novel. I cannot wait for her next book, "The Millener's Secret", to come out in spring 2015!
