This review is from: Braun Oral-B Triumph 5000 Five-Mode Power Toothbrush with Wireless Smart Guide (Personal Care)
Having used several previous Oral-B brushes that had chargers designed for any voltage 110V to 240V, we assumed this functionality would not be dropped from a product designed to be used for travel as well as at home. It was only once in a 110V country, and the brush wouldn't charge that we noticed the chargers are now 220V ONLY. According to "Oral-B", this change is in line with requests from customers, so their toothbrushes are now supplied with chargers that only work on 220V (or 110V in America etc). This is because their customers "care more about the environment, than for the electricity modulation. We changed our charger as it framed in our sustainability plans to reduce plastics. The new charger uses less plastics, but we had to sacrifice on the modulation range".
Oral-B tell me that 110V chargers are NOT available should users wish to charge their toothbrushes in 110V countries.
They have also "upgraded" the functionality so that, rather than a brief "judder" every 30 secs during brushing to indicate it's time to move to the next quadrant, the brush stops and beeps before restarting. Plain irritating IMHO.
