Poor production and directing lets this down SO much,

Much as I like the films of Ben Cross (one of our most gifted and talented actors bar none) this film is dross, sorry but that's the only way I can descibe it. Ben is brilliant in it (as ever), playing it in all seriousness but it lets him down so much. Gratuitous female nudity, blood, gore and shock tactics which are so badly edited it makes the film appear disjointed - it does not flow at all; in fact the only thing flowing in this movie is blood, lots of it and for no good reason. Yes, you expect blood in a horror movie but usually the story is followable but this is dire. For instance, when the mammoth battle between Father Michael (Cross) and the devil occurs, whose idea was it to have tiny hobgoblins run up and tie the priest to the altar, they scuttle in like children in fancy dress gleefully going about their task, it made me laugh out loud and that, surely was not the intention. As for the devil itself, well 'monster of the week' would be more apt. Why was there no explanation of why Fr Michael was blinded at the end? Dreadful! A hackneyed piece of old tut and it's a shame as it had all the makings of a really good movie.
The 3 stars rating for such a poor movie - those 3 stars go to Ben Cross for doing his level best with such a poor premise.
