This review is from: Trick and Treat: How Healthy Eating is Making Us Ill (Paperback)
As the 'health' industry struggles to cope with the massive explosion of obesity, heart disease, diabete's and cancer which has occured since the introduction of 'healthy' eating in the late 1980's (coincidence or cause and effect?) here is a simple explanation as to why this has happened.Quite simply we have moved away from our natural diet and onto unhealthy foods which we are simply not designed to eat. This isn't an 'atkins' fad diet, but simply a look back to our biological and evolutional past. You simply cannot argue with human biology, evolution and hunter-gatherer's,and they prove we are a high fat,low sugar eating species.Hunter gatherer's on the planet today eating their natural foods DON'T suffer from obesity, cancer, heart disease or diabete's,yet why are they not studied? It makes complete sense to do this but i think the health industry and drug companies know what they will find, and they won't like it.Fat is the good guy, sugar (carbohydrate) is the bad guy,and it is very scary how much power the drug companies have over the health industries of the world. They are the second most profitable industry on the planet, and to keep those profits they need SICK people.....hence 'healthy' eating. Follow their advice at your peril. It's bacon and eggs fried in lard for me.You can keep your cereal, skimmed milk and toast. If you want to stay fit and healthy into old age then buy this book and follow the advice. If you want to age with diabete's,heart disease, obesity, cancer etc etc, then follow 'healthy' eating advice. Why put ourselves and our families through the pain of losing loved ones to these diseases when they can be prevented through a shift in diet? A shift that the drug companies DON'T want you to know about,so they can keep on making billions of pounds profit, and that, for me is scandelous.
