2.0 out of 5 stars A Rip, 14 Dec. 2013

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Monty Python's Meaning of Life - 30th Anniversary Edition [Blu-ray] [1983] (Blu-ray)
This Blu Ray looks like a straight rip from a DVD and it shows in the quality, I expect a quality production on blu ray taken from original stock not just a cheap DVD rip.

***IAN*** ref; This Blu Ray looks like a straight rip from a DVD-Could you possibly have done a proper side by side comparison to be certain?
Be fair you only paid about £10. How the film looks depends on what it was filmed on
To turn a sous ear into a silk purse costs money
Just list it for sale here, saying watched once

I must admit I have a very similar problem with my Bluray of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. It just doesn't do justice to high definition.

The assets for Meaning Of Life aren't great. The negative appears to be missing or prohibitively damaged, so it'll never look as good as the amazing Grail release, restored from its original negative. This is a reasonable restoration of a 35mm print of a film I've never seen in good quality to the point where I wonder if it even exists as such.
