From somebody who can judge wrestling.,
This review is from: WWE Wrestlemania XXII (3 Disc Box Set) [DVD] (DVD)
Kane and Big Show vs Carlito and Chris Masters (World Tag Team Titles)
Poor match, although it was really only here to give these guys something to do.
Money In The Bank World Title Shot Interpromotional Ladder Match
Better than the previous year's match, and we all know where this led to three months later.
Chris Benoit vs JBL (US Title)
Not as good as some of their matches on the house show circuit, but it had its place on the card.
Edge vs Mick Foley
Decent wrestling but unforgettable for its dangerous stunts and Edge looked even more death-defying than Foley in this one.
Boogeyman vs Booker T and Sharmelle
It's good to know that Booker won King of the Ring and the World Heavyweight Title both within four months of this debacle, but that doesn't excuse this waste of time.
Mickie James vs Trish Stratus (Womens Title)
Proved that sometimes female wrestlers are there to actually wrestle. Apart from the ending, this was a very good match.
Undertaker vs Mark Henry in a Casket Match
Average for the first eight minutes, then it picked up and led to a lovely spot from Undertaker that always puts a smile on my face whenever he does it. Worth watching for that feel-good moment.
Shawn Michaels vs Vince McMahon
I was dreading this match, but fortunately Vince realised he can't make himself look as good as Shawn Michaels (even though he matched up to John Cena just a few days before this event), so Michaels just jumped around and got the crowd cheering.
10/10 for entertainment
Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle vs Randy Orton (World Heavyweight Title)
So Rey Mysterio won the Royal Rumble having been in the match for the longest amount of time ever, and his match isn't even the last on the show? Ridiculous. And not only that, but it only went 9 and a half minutes. Still, those 570 seconds were immensly entertaining.
Should have been 10/10 with more time, instead was around 8/10
Torrie vs Candice in a Playboy Pillow Fight
Completely out of place between the two World Title matches, and had no right going on after the triple-threat, nor did it have the right to take up four minutes that could have gone to the triple threat. Ludicrous.
John Cena vs Triple H (WWE Title)
They did about the best they could do (their three-way next month with Edge was better, though), the crowd was absolutely into it and everyone cared when it ended and showed both men a lot of respect for what they'd seen. Wrestling didn't matter for this match as it was an event more than anything, but we got 22 minutes of decent wrestling as well. This could actually be one of the better Main Event matches that Wrestlemania's seen, and that's saying a lot.
100/10 for drama and entertainment, I'll say 8/10 for wrestling
