Unique old school instrumental prog,
This review is from: The Dream Harbour (MP3 Download)
With so many new prog bands emulating Porcupine Tree, and the like, it's nice to hear some solid diversity, and bring on the instrumental old school trappings of Andrew Marshall. His compositions are mainly long-epic pieces, bridged with Anthony Phillips-like short passages. His music evokes visions of colors, moods, and adventure.
This is Willowglass' third album, and though the style is very similar to the first two, songs seems a bit more bold, as well as expand on instrumentation (and guests). Don't want to get too spoiler-ish, but all songs are solid, many harboring Andrew's signature lead synth sound... with many ranges of highs and lows; no filler. Packaging-wise, multiple page liners is ambitious from an independent release. Great music and value for your buck.
My only gripe (or wish), might be the possible need for vocals in the future (female would fit in better), this would add another layer that would make this magical music even more wonderful. A no-brainer, unique; a must buy.
