A rather weak translation of a vital part of the Ihya,
This review is from: Al-Ghazali's Faith in Divine Unity and Trust in Divine Providence (The Revival of the Religious Sciences, Book 35) (Paperback)This translation often confuses what are straighforward points in the Arabic original. It seems the translator is not strong in his Arabic and this can be seen in how the text has been translated. It is a shame really as Fons Vitae have produced many great translations before. The translator should be applauded though for undertaking this task and allowing an English speaking audience the chance to glimpse this classic section of the Ihya. It is my hope that the Islamic Texts Society commission Yahya Rhodus for this text and others, even though Timothy Winter asked Burrell to translate this.
