This review is from: Asus USB-N53 USB Dual Band Wireless Dongle (Accessory)
I recently switched to BT Infinity 2, which claims up to 76Mbps, but they were honest enough to say that my postcode could expect 55Mbps. My previous ISP, O2, had promised "up to 24" but actually delivered on a good day 8.
When the installation guy fitted the modem & router my internal card (unchanged) gave me 0.15 Mbps. Oh dear... But with ethernet around 60, so clearly the BT Home Hub 4 doesn't like my Dell wireless card.
I temporarily used a Netgear single-band dongle and it leapt to 30. Not good enough, so I bought this Asus USB-N53. It started with 22 Mbps. Oh no, I thought, here we go again. But with a bit of tweaking of the router (syncing the 2.4 & 5Ghz channels, perhaps? No idea - networking is black magic to me) and installing Windows 8 drivers from the Asus site, it suddenly leapt to well over 60Gbps, as fast as or faster than the ethernet wired connection.
So in the end I'm extremely pleased with this dongle. Fantastic performance at a great price.
