Few people justify the title "Legend". Max Clifford does!,
This review is from: Max Clifford - Read All About It (Hardcover)
The autobiography of the man who is regarded as the Godfather of the Public Relations industry, a legend who has made stars and played the media like a harp to the advantage of his clients.
We also get to see the other Max, who has literally made and donated millions to charities as well as giving freely of his time and expertise. A devoted father to an increasingly disabled child, he brought stars like Sinatra and Westlife into hospitals to entertain the young and old.
This autobiography, done in conversational style and completely lacking in the stodge factor for that, takes the reader on a tour of Max and his colourful life. Absolutely packed with stories and observations from start to finish, each chapter leading seamlessly into the next.
Filled with many glowing tributes to Clifford (and a few not so glowing...) the book looks at the complete man and is brutally frank in places about some of his less than wholesome activities. Max makes no apologies for what he does or has done in the past, and the reader may be surprised by just what his business involves. Discreet parties for celebrities was one extremely lucrative line!
And did we ever think that Judy Garland could have such a foul mouth....but I'll leave that up to Max to tell you about.
