Good Picture Book,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Collector's Guide to Inkwells: Bk.1: Identification and Values (Paperback)
I like this book despite the mistakes/misprints. There is a match striker/holder shown as an inkwell but that is amusing rather than reprehensible. The ceramic section could have done with being edited by a ceramics expert.
I was sure the major flaw of the book would be too much souvenir tat but that was not the case; and although the majority of the items shown are of US origin the rest of the planet is catered for.
The author mainly seems to concentrate on what might be found by an ordinary collector even though some pieces are four figures (dollars), but at least there are no silver examples dating to the federal period or Paul Storr examples going well into five figures.
With up to three examples sometimes per plate and five hundred plates this represents a nice book for the afficionado of inkwells, ink bottles and even traveling inkwells.
