5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, affordable, but badly packaged robotic kit, 25 Oct 2009

This review is from: LEGO 8547: Mindstorms NXT 2.0: Robot (Toy)
My teenage daughter thinks this kit is awesome - built robots, programmed robots - lots of fun.

Price seems good compared to other programmable robotic kits.

The packaging lets it down, though.

The box cannot be used to keep all the bits together safely. Given the price of the kit and the large number of pieces involved (many of which are very small) - it seemed a little penny pinching.

I'll second that emotion about the packaging. It is a bit flimsy, isn't it? It's good to be green I guess, but it would be nice to see manufacturers of expensive plastic kits provide reasonable quality plastic boxes to stow them away.

I fully agree with you, whilst the kit itself is brilliant, the packaging is penny-pinching at it's worst!!! Because it would have cost them next to nothing to have supplied it in a basic plastic case with compartments, & as the case would have been kept for storage of the kit, it would have been green as well!!! Come on Lego, for the cost, this is one big boo-boo on your part!!!
But apart from that, as i said, kit is flawless!!!
