Unfortunate production flaw,
This review is from: Peppa Pig: Santa's Grotto [Volume 13] [DVD] (DVD)As mentioned by the previous reviewer, there's a problem with aspect ratio.
Menus do come in 16:9 widescreen, but all episodes are cropped to 4:3 and then stretched to 16:9.
So viewing is a pain, as you need to switch the picture format on your TV set from 16:9 to 4:3 and back while going from the menu to episodes. Or else just stick with 4:3 and see all menus squashed.
And even then the crop of the episodes is unpleasant and distracting, as there's a good part of the picture missing, so characters will often appear off screen or with just their nose visible while saying something and/or being a part of the action.
Is this an official DVD at all? There's no reason for such cropping, unless you record the episodes from telly or something and then need to remove the channel branding by cropping the content this way.

Oh, that's too bad. Does this DVD have new episodes on it?

This is the list of episodes:
1. Santa's Grotto (Part 1 of 2)
2. Santa's Visit (Part 2 of 2)
3. Mr Potato Comes to Town
4. Granny Pig's Chicken
5. Talent Day
6. Goldie the Fish
8. Digging Up The Road
9. Freddy Fox
10.Sun, Sea and Snow
I think, Santa's Grotto is new. And episodes 9 and 10 have first appeared on telly this autumn.
Hope, that answers your question!
