Great intro to cooking for kids,
This review is from: Kids' Kitchen: 1 (Cards)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
When kids see the Kids' Kitchen box for the first time they really want to get in to it and start cooking. The packaging is bright, colourful and glossily tactile. The cards are the same, with a large number and variety of recipes for the little ones to try out, with warnings to get an adult to help with certain bits (eg those involving heat) and to wash hands before starting.
As an example, my wife and son (aged 7) tried the gooey brownies. The instructions were very simple and clear, and my son was able to read them out and also to help. There was no confusion and my son was very confident that they would be successful. The proof of the pudding (so to speak!) was in the eating - I'm glad to say they were absolutely perfect and he couldn't wait to take some in for his teachers. A great success and now he wants to try out more recipes (although hopefully ones with a lot less sugar!).
At first I was unsure if the cartoon type pictures would be good enough, but speaking to my son he thought they were really good - it shows you need to give a hint of what the food should look like rather than a shining example which would of course be harder to achieve.
Overall, I was very pleased with the box of recipes and would recommend then for an intro to cooking, for age 7 and up.
