Is it cos I is white?,
This review is from: White People (Audio CD)
I tracked down this album after getting fully hooked on 'the Truth' featuring Moloko, and I haven't been disappointed. Forget the racist slurs of the previous review, looks like the reviewer needs to take the 'irony detection' class at the modeling school.
This album pulls in the broadest selection of guest vocals on any hip hop album I've ever heard. Pretty impressive, and hard to make it gel, but then this is Prince Paul and Dan the Automator, after all. It's an ambitious album, and yes, some of the tracks don't work out that well - but some are epic, like Rock and Roll, which changes direction so often you have to keep checking it's still the same track (or album), and Class System.
Maybe this isn't going to go down too well with the hip hop purists and maybe it will mostly appeal, (as the title hints at) to white boys like me who love the likes of Cat Power and Jack Johnson too, but personally i think it's a keeper.
