1.0 out of 5 stars A FRAUDULENT AND VICIOUS BOOK, 25 Nov. 2012
This review is from: 10 Rillington Place (Paperback)
This famous book has it all: error or falsehood on almost every page, false set-up, changed evidence (often well done: it took me a couple of days to work out Kennedy's fraud over the dates in the case), bland ignorance or dismissal of the evidence of the pathologists and the prison doctor which showed Tim Evans was guilty, omission of the vital (Beryl Evans wasn't even in the house when Christie was supposed to be strangling her, she was 16 weeks pregnant when she died so was hardly likely to have accepted an offer of abortion from the creepy man downstairs), but above all, utterly false allegations carefully manufactured against people of the highest quality. Right at the very start, Beryl Evans, the murdered wife of Timothy John Evans, is given a bad name as an inadequate and dirty housekeeper. But she was married to a violent psychopath with an IQ of 65 who spent the housekeeping in pubs. She came from a highly respectable family. The police testimony was examined wery carefully by me. Rightly, they were never charged. Evans, who never complained to his legal team about being browbeaten into making a false confession, sent DI Black his regards from his death cell the night before his execution. Scott Henderson QC got it right with his Report. He is not a charlatan (Kennedy) or a hypocrite (Sir Harold Evans) but a man who although grievously wounded at Gallipoli with gunshot wounds to head eye and arm managed to qualify as a barrister, one who was highly regarded and noted for his speed. Sir Daniel Brabin MC wrote the second report. He was awarded the Military Cross for staying in his position as artillery spotter, and his direction of fire helped to break up a German attack. Hardly men to be involved in hypocrisy or manoeuvre. The pathologists, who have contrary views to Kennedy (one, Dr Teare, wrote a strong letter of complaint to the Sunday Times) are simply ignored. Dr Matheson, the prison doctor, the only man to have tested both Evans and Christie, diagnosed Evans as a psychopath with an IQ of 65, and thought him guilty of both murders, Beryl and Geraldine Evans. His view is simply ignored.

I suppose in your world Evans killed all those other women found in the house and garden too,and Christie was innocent of those murders? If Evans was a "violent psychopath" what the hell was Christie then? Yet you think two men independent of each other, were murdering women in the same house by the same method without either aware of the other mans habits! Strange, very strange.
