4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic but watch out for black screen of death!, 14 July 2012

This review is from: (Discontinued by Manufacturer) (Electronics)
The TV is just truly awsome, with amazing details with both colours and vibrant 3D technology...only, i have plugged in my PS3 to watch movies and play games only now to find out that the screen has gone completely black when coupled with the device, during a movie (after the TV uploaded its latest software update) the screen no longer responds to the PS3 via a HDMI cable, spoken with SONY who wheren't really that helpful, now im trying to look on blogs to see if there is a fix out there, if you are going to put a PS3 on it, then be prepared for fun and games ( not in the entertainment sense!) my PS3 works still on my LG but this really defeats the object of having a gorgeous TV and my PS3, once i have the fix i will post it on hear, if your not going to be using a PS3 then buy this set you will be truly amazed, no TV comes close to the realism and vibrancy!!
regards

Hi James, I read your comment and thought you might want to try resetting the PS3's picture output settings. To do this, hold down the power button when turning the ps3 on. You should hear a series of beeps after a few seconds, the ps3 will reset and hopefully come up on your screen in a very low resolution. It will ask you something about an HDMI cable being detected and whether you want to optimise the settings for the screen - select yes. You should now have the wonderful Full HD picture back!!
Hope this helped. Enjoy your new TV - i'm very jealous, it sounds amazing!

Hi were you aware that there are preference settings for video. Home > settings>display>video input settings>>>> There may be something that works here. Good luck.

I have a PS3 and also previously had an LG TV. I had no problems with using this TV with my PS3.
Sounds like you might have a duff HDMI cable, a faulty PS3 or non-standard software on your PS3.
