This review is from: Vampire State of Mind (Choc Lit) (Otherworlders Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
So, a common theme is forming with my reading patterns. I am gaining inspiration from my twitter feed. I stumbled across Jane Lovering via a recommendation from Katie Fforde. As I love Katie Fforde's books, I thought I'd give Jane a 'whirl'. To date, I have not been disappointed and have enjoyed her previous books. So, when Vampire State of Mind was released, I was torn. Vampire/gothic style books do not figure as 'must reads' but I do like Jane Lovering. So, as I'd promised that I would, via twitter, I downloaded and started to read.
Well, who would have guessed? I like vampire/goth romantic fiction! To be clear, I still don't fancy the Twighlight series but loved this more than I would ever have imagined. In fact, this is my favourite so far.
The characters form easily and the right level of empathy builds as the story unfolds. I truly imagined an 'alternative' York and loved the idea of the blending of the species.
So, if like me, you don't fancy this kind of book, kick your instincts aside and give it a whirl. What's the worst that could happen?
