A good jumping on point,
This review is from: Star Trek:Corps of Engineers: Aftermath (Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers) (Paperback)
This was the first SCE book I picked up, having been scared off up till now by the thought of stories about engineers solving problems with weird, made up particles (a la Voyager). I was astonished to learn that this is probably the most true to the original vision of Star Trek of any of the novel series - the crew go out there, meet new people and solve problems.
A good collection of shorter stories, all of them well written and engaging (some better than others, but hey, what do you expect?). If you haven't read any SCE before, this is a good place to start as it introduces a lot of new characters. However, if you have no idea who Kieran Duffy is the repeated mention of that (deceased) character will get trying.
