lily bard - mostly good,

I'm a big fan of Charlaine Harris and have all of her Sookie Stackhouse novels. I've also read two of the Harper Connolly books and "Real Murders". After the crashing disappointment of "real murders", I thought I would try "Shakespeare's Landlord".
The main character - Lily Bard is an interesting premise, a cleaner and fitness fanatic with a DARK PAST(TM). It all starts when the landlord of Lily's apartment block is found dead. The characters are engaging and varied and provide an interesting insight into life in a small town. I wouldn't say the plot is rocket science but it's certainly an engaging read.
I'm now working my way through the other Lily Bard novels as a result
