they work, are cheap, but the ring lets it down,

This spoon set is good for the price. However, I didn't expect the ring holding them together to be quite so flimsy. Now every time they are used at least 2-3 spoons end up falling off somewhere between using them and being washed. This is annoying, and thus I wish I had spent slightly more to avoid this issue.
A fix would be to swap the ring with a more sturdy ring that you can find around the house, which is what I am going to do...but I don't like doing the manufacturers job for them, thus 3 stars is the most I can award.

I second this review. This is a great set of spoons with really useful measures, including the half tablespoon / one and a half teaspoons, which I find is so useful in bread making in particular. They are very good value for the price, but the retaining ring is crap, and I had just had the same idea as this reviewer, when I read the review. I'd give the set a four, personally, as they are so cheap and so useful. I'm going in search of a good retaining ring - probably a trip to the shoe repairer is on the cards!

I've had this measuring spoon set for about 5 years now, and have never had any problems with the retaining ring. The set has both lived hanging on a hook in the kitchen, and at times has been stashed away in a drawer, but I've never had any problems with the retaining ring, and have found the ring to be very sturdy and suitable for its purpose.

Lots of luck then Kerry! They must have sent you a special ring! To anyone reading the review, you have been warned about the ring. Indeed, the spoons themselves have also found their way to the bin. I highly recommend paying an extra few pounds for a sturdy stainless steel set with a proper sealed stainless steel retaining ring, and avoid this product completely.

The keyring is flimsy I have to say, but I don't keep them on a keyring, I just keep them in a tiny bag together and get them out as and when required. At the end of the day they are very good measuring spoons even if the retaining ring is not so great.
