1.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Morning Disappointment, 4 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Nikon 1 V2 Compact System Camera with 10-30mm Lens Kit - White (14.2MP) 3 inch LCD (Camera)
The camera is great and is packed with features.

HOWEVER:

On Christmas morning my girlfriend opened this camera to find that it came with a US Power plug - not UK or even European! Huge disappointment considering the price paid - amazon must have bought this camera from a US wholesaler.

Also, please do heed this WARNING - because I have seen other people have a similar issue on the black version from Amazon in the reviews. I have contacted both Amazon and Nikon and neither can provide a charger.

Wow!!! What a bad camera for having the wrong plug on the charger. That must have made the photos really terrible! It would have cost a crippling £5 (less than 1% of the price of the camera) to get an adapter. Maybe you bought from the cheapest supplier and didn't read the small print that it was a US import, not covered by a UK warranty and no duty paid - who knows.

It was confirmed by Amazon.co.uk that the camera was not supposed to be a U.S import.

Yes, I did spend £5 on an adapter - but seeing that this was a Christmas present it still managed to ruin Christmas morning.

How about you take your sarcastic comments elsewhere, clearly a keyboard warrior.

So the camera gets one star because Amazon messed up... not very helpful!

Clearly a disappointing detail, - unexpected of Amazon UK in my long experience, - and certainly something that Amazon UK should in my view be prepared to immediately rectify. The fact that you say neither they nor Nikon felt, or were able, to do so seems very uncaring and totally unacceptable in this age of customer service high expectations. An interesting point for consideration. However, your review fails to give us any opinion on the actual camera and its performance. What a shame!!

Any chance of a review that tells me something about the camera. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with Amazon but that's only part of the story and I'd like to know what your overall experience of the camera has been .

Wow man. Your life must be ruined. I wonder are you and your girlfriend still together, or did the strain of christmas morning get to much for you both.
Get a grip.

I (for one) am glad you told us about the US power adapter. It would be a nasty surprise for many to have that happen (either for themselves or for gifts) and it should be rectified by someone (Amazon and/or Nikon), if they haven't already. Thanks again.
