2.0 out of 5 stars Brussels Laid Bare, 11 July 2009
This review is from: Brussels Laid Bare (Paperback)
I was disappointed with this book as I expected to have lots of information as to how all the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels were ripping us off giving us lots of details. I read the book up to the last 2 chapters and felt I was wasting my time reading any more. Maybe I've missed the best bits!! This book may be interesting to some people, but I was bored.

I think Mrs Walpole may have missed the book's strapline, clearly shown on the front cover, which says that this book is about "How the EU treated its chief accountant when she refused to go along with its fraud and waste". In other words, this is the story of what goes own behind the green baize doors in Brussels - it describes how the bureaucrats behave and it exposes their shocking culture of corruption. For me it's a jaw-dropping tale, which is why, as a qualified chartered accountant, when Marta Andreasen told me she didn't have a publisher, I unhesitatingly offered to publish it through my company, St Edwards Press Ltd.
If Mrs Walpole wants details of the EU rip then the book to read is called, would you belive "The Great European Rip off". This is another devastating book and is published by the TaxPayers Alliance.

Mr C says:
Wake up and smell the coffee. Lack of financial accountability +power = institutional incompetence and corruption in public life. 100% guaranteed. This is a short but excellent expose of many of the disgusting practices that thrive in the dark corners of too many of our large, publicly funded institutions. This I know from direct experience but I won't go into that...
