Price at his best,

This review is from: House on Haunted Hill [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A great film, made way back when they first had the idea of scaring people with suspense and not gallons of corn syrup.
Shot in black and white, Price stars as the owner of "Hill House" who invites a group of people to stay in his haunted home for the night in order to win a large sum of money. Little do they know that they are not intended to get out alive. There are many classic moments of tacky suspense - the Cinema gimmic was to fly a fake skeleton around the cinema- as well as unintentional humour (a fantastic comedy turn by the blind housekeeper).
The film is actually a "12" (check on [...] if you don't believe me), and makes a great Halloween film for the kids, especially if you get a copy with the old "18" on the cover. A true classic - buy it!
