2.0 out of 5 stars Are they genuine?, 29 Dec. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Canon PGI525 and CLI526 Multipack Ink - Black/Cyan/Magenta/Yellow (Office Product)
I too bought from SilverTrade gmbh and the cartridges are not in the packaging shown in the image. They look genuine but I am left unsure. SilverTrade gmbh need to provide some kind of explanation. Do they buy each colour in bulk and repackage them or havr I bought fake items . . . . and how will that affect the performance of my new printer?

The original Canon Printers are sold with a set of ink cartridges but most sellers on Amazon sell the printers without cartridges, expecting you to buy them separately. As most sets of cartridges are removed from the original retail packs before printers are sold, and most of the sets of cartridges for sale come without retail boxes, it is easy to work out where they come from.
I made sure my printer had the original cartridges, and they came foil wrapped as the ones you bought. It is simply the case of retailers making more money out of us.

This sounds like a very convincing explanation. Thankfully my Canon MX885 bought from OYYY.co.uk came with cartridges - full size too rather than a reduced capacity starter pack.
