This review is from: York R510 Rower (Sports)
I brought the R510 on Amazon at a fantastic price. But I was disappointed because I'd only used it a handful of times and had to order in a new part. I noticed that after my 3rd rowing session, black 'dust' was accumulating on top of the digital reader box. Further investigation showed the strap was wearing down and cutting into the plastic roller! It turned out the bolts were done up too tightly (from factory) stopping the roller from rotating- make sure to check the rollers rotate freely BEFORE rowing. The new roller arrived almost next day and having now loosened off the bolts slightly, is now working perfectly. However I then discovered that the main wheel bolt was ALSO tightened too much (from factory again) which was AGAIN causing a serious resistance problem at the wheel supports. Loosening off the bolt has once again greatly improved/sorted this issue. I'm glad to say that I now have a fully functioning rower which seems to be working a treat since the adjustments. So just to reiterate for anyone who's getting one:
TIP: Ensure the roller bolts and main wheel bolts are not overtightened from the factory as it will create resistance and damage the rather fragile components!!
